Millennium Insurance Group and Key Risk


March 2006 - Millennium Insurance Group and Key Risk are pleased to announce that their workers compensation program for North Carolina cities, towns, and water and sewer districts will now be written through Key Risk Insurance Company (KRIC). Additionally, the program has now been expanded to include North Carolina counties. Independent insurance agents will access the program via Millennium Insurance Group. Policies currently issued by AIMCO Mutual Insurance Company (AIMCO) will continue until their expiration date. Key Risk will continue to service all policyholders under this program.

Key Risk is a regional workers compensation provider that specializes in developing workers compensation programs and services for specific classes, customizing the services for that industry group. More detailed information about Key Risk is available at www.keyrisk.com.

Facts about the new program are:
  • To be eligible, a city or town must have a population of 50,000 or less; a county must have a population of 100,000 or less.
  • Requirements for a quotation include: ACORD application, currently valued loss runs for the last three years, NC Rate Bureau experience mod worksheet and a completed supplemental application.
  • KRIC is a member of the W. R. Berkley Corporation, a publicly traded insurance holding company which, through its subsidiaries, operates in all segments of the property casualty insurance business. On a consolidated basis, W.R. Berkley had $5 billion in gross premiums written, $13.8 billion in total assets and more than $2.5 billion in stockholders’ equity as of December 31, 2005.
  • Acceptable accounts will be written by KRIC. The group rating from A.M. Best, which applies to KRIC, is A (Excellent), Class XIV
New account prospects should be submitted directly to Millennium Insurance Group for consideration. Millennium Insurance Group has been a “source” for municipal workers’ compensation insurance for several years. Additionally, Millennium provides independent agents access to property and liability programs for governmental entities.
